Personal support work: A meaningful, in-demand career option

--------- SCRIPT ---------

Reporter Script:

As many of us continue to struggle with everyday costs, there’s one career path that has more demand than ever, and companies are hiring in every part of Ontario.

Personal support workers – or PSWs – can take pride in having meaningful jobs and helping their clients with daily tasks they can’t do on their own, such as getting dressed, preparing meals, personal care and medication reminders.

It’s a good time to join this profession. The Government of Ontario is now providing financial incentives of up to twenty-five thousand dollars to start a new career as a PSW. You can become qualified in as little as five months at your local college.

As our population continues to age, demand for this role will only grow. In fact, over the next two years, the provincial government predicts we’ll need up to twenty-four thousand new PSWs. Find out more at work for life dot c a.
