How to have a pet-friendly holiday

--------- SCRIPT ---------

Reporter Script:

It’s the holiday season which means special events, wintry weather and hidden risks for pets.

There are many simple things you can do to make the holiday season merry for your pets such as keeping decorations and electrical cords out of reach and not bringing home poisonous plants including mistletoe and holly. It’s also important to have a quiet place for your animals to go if they get stressed out during holiday festivities.

And, even furry animals feel the cold, so keep them inside when the temperature drops.

Beth Sharpe, Communications Director for World Animal Protection adds:

Spokesperson Quote:

“Keep at least 3 days’ worth of extra pet food and water on hand for winter storms. Protecting pets and other animals is our responsibility. You can also help vulnerable animals around the world by giving a charitable World Animal Gift of food and safety. From elephants to dolphins, your gift will improve their lives."
